After greeting President Trump in Anchorage as his “dear neighbor,” Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the evening press conference by saying their agreement will “pave the path toward peace in Ukraine.” He said a permanent deal will require addressing the conflict’s root causes and agreed with Trump that Ukraine’s security must be ensured.
