Browns QB Shedeur Sanders cited for driving 101 in 60 mph zone
Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was cited for speeding early Tuesday, according to police records obtained by NBC News. The Strongsville, Ohio, Police Department said Sanders was driving his black Dodge pickup truck at 101 mph in a 60 mph zone before he was stopped at 12:24 a.m.
He must either pay a fine or contest the ticket in court on July 3.
Sanders, a fifth-round pick out of Colorado, is competing for the starting quarterback job in Cleveland with Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel.
In two seasons at Colorado, he threw for 7,364 yards and 64 touchdowns with just 13 interceptions. A potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he slid down boards and was the sixth quarterback taken.
His fall on draft night even prompted President Donald Trump to call NFL owners “stupid” on social media for not selecting him higher.
