Former Democratic Rep. Charles Rangel, who championed Harlem communities on Capitol Hill for nearly 50 years, died Monday at the age of 94. He was first elected to Congress in 1970 and served until 2017. “He leaves the world a much better place than he found it,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer posted on social media.
